Responsibilities

  • Developing and administering policies and procedures, recruitment, employee relations, and compensation, including benefits
  • Administering city's personnel management related functions and provides administrative assistance to the City Manager

About the Assistant City Manager


Linda S. Zartler started with the City of Boerne as City Secretary in late 1995.  She was promoted to Assistant to the City Manager and then again as Assistant City Manager-General Services in 2013.  In her position she is responsible for the development and administration of policies and procedures, as well as providing oversight to the Administration Department, Human Resources, Animal Control, Municipal Court, Communications, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Information Technology and the Patrick Health Public Library.  She additionally supports the City Manager in the oversight of the Police and Fire Department.

Prior to joining the City of Boerne, Ms. Zartler served in the capacity of City Supervisor for the City of Fair Oaks Ranch, where she served the community for 10 years. 

Ms. Zartler is a Senior Certified Professional with IPMA-SCP and a Texas Municipal Registered Clerk in 1995 and re-certified in 2005, 2010 and 2015.  She  serves on the Advocacy Board and the Nominating Committee of the Texas City Managers Association. She has previously served on the Greater Boerne Area Chamber of Commerce Board.
